Wear Behavior of Monolithic Zirconia after Staining, Glazing, and Polishing Opposing Dental Restorative Materials: An In Vitro Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the effect staining, glazing, and polishing on wear behavior stabilized zirconia with 5 mol% yttrium oxide (5Y-TZP) opposing 5Y-TZP, leucite-reinforced ceramic (LC), lithium disilicate (LD), microhybrid composite resin (MCR). Hemispheres 5Y-TZP were divided into six groups (n = 10) according finishing procedure: C (control), S (staining), G (glazing), P (polishings), SG (staining plus glazing), SP polishing). two-body test (2BW) performed (20 N load, at 2 Hz, until 300,000 cycles). Vertical height loss hemispheres (VHL) depth restorative materials (WD) analyzed using a profile projector laser confocal microscope, respectively. Data VHL WD generalized linear model by Wald t post hoc Bonferroni adjustment (α 0.05). polishing, material had significant (p < 0.05) WD. Polishing reduced MCR, LC, LD. There an increase LD MCR. presented highest resistance, while MCR lowest. recommended promote staining durability decrease rates

Wear of enamel opposing zirconia and lithium disilicate after adjustment, polishing and glazing.

OBJECTIVES To compare the wear and opposing enamel wear of adjusted (A); adjusted and polished (AP); and adjusted and glazed (AG) zirconia and lithium disilicate. METHODS Specimens (n=8) were prepared of lithium disilicate (A, AP, and AG), zirconia (A, AP, and AG), veneering porcelain, and enamel (control). Surface roughness was measured for each ceramic. In vitro wear was conducted in the UA...

Surface properties of monolithic zirconia after dental adjustment treatments and in vitro wear simulation.

OBJECTIVES To investigate the surface properties (roughness, composition, phase transformation) of monolithic zirconia specimens after dental adjustment procedures (grinding, polishing) and wear simulation. METHODS Zirconia specimens (Cercon base, Cercon ht, DeguDent, G; n=10/material) were successively sintered, ground, and polished with an intraoral polishing kit in a three-step procedure. ...

Friction and wear of restorative dental materials.

Many different instruments have been developed for the measurement of friction and wear.1-5 Often the instrument was designed to accommodate some particular type of material, environment, or test condition. Studies reported in the dental literature have been limited to wear measurements with simulated toothbrushing methods,6-9 or on prosthetic teeth mounted on an articulator.10 This study will ...

Two-body wear of dental restorative materials.

AIM The aim of this in vitro study was to determine the two-body wear resistance of modern direct dental restorative materials. METHODS Eight standardized specimens were prepared from 14 dental restorative materials (nano-, micro-, hybrid-, macrofilled composites; compomer, silorane, ormocer); a veneering composite (Sinfony) and enamel were used for reference. Vickers hardness (HV) and inorga...

Effect of polishing and glazing on the color and spectral distribution of monolithic zirconia

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of polishing and glazing on the color and spectral distribution of monolithic zirconia. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-five monolithic zirconia specimens (16.3 mm × 16.4 mm × 2.0 mm) were fabricated and divided into 5 groups according to the number of A2-coloring liquid applications (Group I to V). Each group was divided into 3 subgroups a...
